Event Brief
The 8th Edition of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was held in Kochi with the intent to bring together a wide range of stakeholders including government authorities, policy experts, insurance companies, and regional implementing agencies. The goal was to create a collaborative space to evaluate the scheme’s progress, address agricultural challenges, and align on future strategies. The event also aimed to reflect the cultural richness of the host city and extend the experience to virtual audiences through hybrid integration.
Essence Transmedia was appointed to lead the entire end-to-end execution — from ideation to delivery — blending serious policy dialogue with cultural nuance and digital reach.
Execution
Essence Transmedia began by conducting detailed interactions with the PMFBY leadership to understand the core messaging, desired outcomes, and the profile of the audience. These insights guided the conceptualization of an event experience that aligned with the government’s focus on farmer welfare, insurance outreach, and agricultural innovation, while embedding local cultural elements from Kerala to give the event a strong regional flavor.
A thoughtfully structured agenda was developed, featuring keynotes, expert panel discussions, interactive Q&A sessions, and breakout engagements, all tailored to reflect the ongoing efforts and future direction of the PMFBY scheme. Simultaneously, Essence worked on developing the visual and thematic language of the event, ensuring that the branding, content, and design echoed both policy depth and cultural context.
To celebrate Kochi’s heritage and keep the experience vibrant, the event featured curated cultural performances — including classical dance and live music — along with installations by local artisans. These immersive moments provided a refreshing contrast to formal discussions, while also engaging attendees on a more emotional level.
Recognizing the importance of scale and accessibility, Essence integrated live virtual streaming with interactive capabilities. Remote attendees could participate in real time — asking questions, reacting to sessions, and joining discussions — thereby extending the event’s reach across geographies and maximizing stakeholder inclusion.
Operationally, Essence managed every on-ground detail — including venue branding, technical setups, AV support, registration flow, transport coordination, security, and guest handling — ensuring a smooth and professional experience. The team worked behind the scenes to manage time transitions, speaker readiness, and digital platform stability, delivering a frictionless event for both physical and virtual participants.
Post-event, Essence conducted a structured feedback and review exercise, collecting insights from delegates, speakers, and government officials to evaluate impact and experience quality. These findings were compiled to help shape future editions and ensure continuous improvement.
